A study of the effect on the structure of upper-main sequence envelopes of a large, global magnetic field has determined that, for an envelope model incorporating a 1000-Gauss field, the additional B-squared/8(pi) magnetic pressure component may expand the photosphere of a 2.0-solar mass star by 20%. The implications of this effect for Ap stars, and for the position of the main sequence in cluster H-R diagrams, are discussed. The relative importance of convection in such expanded stars is also considered.
