We present strong galaxy-galaxy lens candidates from the Deep Lens Survey (DLS), an NOAO survey that is obtaining deep (R ˜ 26) and multi-band (BVRz') images in 5 separate four square degree fields. Lens candidates are selected using a new technique, based on detecting the shape of strongly lensed galaxies (or "arcs"). We define shape parameters which are evaluated at multiple thresholds in order to distinguish arcs from other objects in the DLS fields. The shapes of arcs in this parameter space are constrained using realistic simulations of strong galaxy-galaxy lensing.
