The subtle structure of space plasma formation is often observed. The filaments in astronomical objects and in aurora are seen in visible light. Satellite observations of plasma parameters show that this is more general feature of the plasma. The review of observations of filamentary structure of plasma in the polar cusp done on satellites Prognoz 8, Interball 1 and Cluster will be given in this presentation. The wavelet analysis has been used to order the best spatial resolution. The characteristic scale of these structures suggests that they could be caused by the nonlinear evolution of the Alfven waves and pinching of the field aligned currents flowing in these region of the magnetosphere.
