Symplectic algorithms are applied to the computation of Liapunov Characteristic Numbers (LCN) in the paper. Numerical results show that symplectic algorithms have great advantages over qualitative investigation of dynamic astronomy compared with general non-symplectic numerical methods. It is important to preserve the symplectic structure of tangent space in the computation of LCN.
