The use of preliminary digital filtering with the averaging of medians for the processing of comet images at the Biurakan Astrophysical Observatory is reported. After a single application of filtering, the dispersion of the photographic background was reduced by half, the number of isolated density levels was increased, and the resolution of the comet tail structure was improved.
