Cameras: Photon Counting

In recent years, several "photon-counting cameras" have been developed. In this paper, two types of photon cameras and their application in the Mark III stellar interferometer are presented. The properties that make this kind of camera particularly useful for stellar interferometry as a star tracker are: (1) ultra-high sensitivity; (2) high spatial resolution; (3) perfect tracking performance.
