Programs composed from optimal-algebra subroutines are applied to the determination of satellite motion disturbances caused by the second zonal harmonic of the earth's attraction potential (known as the principal problem in satellite theory). The disturbances of second-order Keppler elements are determined, by successive approximations, for the J2 harmonic.
