The traditional method for determiation of gamma ray energy and direction by an imaging Air Cherenkov Telescope, used in TeV / GeV astronomy, is to compile the weighted moments of the image(such as the center of mass in the X-Y plane, and the second moment of the image for determination of the spread), and apply predetermined data cuts to select gamma rays signal. This method suffers from biases due to dead pixels, dead space between camera pixels, and even effects due to the periodic geometrical organization of the pixels in the focal plane. In this paper I describe a new analysis technique we have developed to fit the gamma ray image using image processing fitting techniques to remove these effects. We quantitatively measure the improvement in the reliability of the new analysis by comparing simulated gamma rays analyzed by both methods.
