Since 2003, NTSC (National Time Service Center, the Chinese Academy of Sciences) has cooperated with the related institutes to work on establishing and maintaining the Joint Atomic Time of China (JATC) to improve the accuracy and stability of the time standard in China, in which the time comparison between the remote clocks is one of the key points. In order to meet the demands for the time comparison, the single-frequency time transfer receivers and the double-frequency ones have been developed at NTSC.
