FUTBOLIN is a new algorithm to calculate line-by-line atmospheric emission/transmission spectra (visible, IR and far-IR) from planetary atmospheres. It has been developed with the idea to apply it to the study of the visible and infrared spectra of any planet around any star; so the user can provide features like the stellar spectrum or the spectral surface albedo. It reads the spectral lines in HITRAN or GEISA format. The interaction with the code is extremely user-friendly. The use can control the calculation up to the finest detail (radius of the planet, spectral range, spectral sampling, irregular grid files, field of view or instrument line shape convolutions, CO2 line mixing, treatment for rotational, electronic or vibrational Non Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (NLTE) effects, selection of isotopes and bands, surface reflections, spectral albedo, types and combinations of clouds and coverage, ...). The main purpose of FUTBOLIN is to generate spectra. Output options are: radiance, transmission, absorption or optical depth spectra, infrared colling rate spectra, radiance flux spectra, cloud radiative effect (cloud forcing). In this presentation, comparison of the FUTBOLIN calculations with other wideworld-recognized codes, and with Earthshine and planetary spectra will be shown. Calculations for several hypothetical extrasolar planets also will be presented.
