Recent studies of the gas flow in disk galaxies by different authors have produced a wide variety of often discrepant results. The gasdynamics code used in these calculations, which is generally different from one author to the next, appears to be instrumental in producing these discrepancies. In this paper a relatively new code is used to recalculate some of the models in the literature. The code has been tested very extensively and appears to be a suitable choice for modelling the flow of an ideal, isothermal gas. Though the real interstellar medium is far more complex than that, the computed gas flows appear to represent the observations quite well.
