Intensive photometry is presented for the Be star 27 CMa for the 1990 and 1991 season. This shows the presence of a periodicity of 0.0918 d in addition to one of 1.257 d. The longer period is characteristic of a large fraction of Be stars and is already known from observations made in 1986 and 1987. However, the short-period pulsation is not seen in the early data. The star is unique for two reasons: it is the first time the growth of Beta Cep pulsations has been witnessed, and it is the only Be star which shows such pulsations.
