The apparent axial ratios a / b of 4454 thin edge-on spiral galaxies, which were measured on blue and red POSS and ESO/SERC prints, are compared. The relations between the flattenings of these galaxies in the {FGC + FGCE} catalog and their flattenings in other catalogs are derived. It is noted that there is no selectivity of flat galaxies in apparent flattenings as a function of their distance or luminosity. The change in the mean value (a/b) along the Hubble sequence reaches its maximum for Scd Sd galaxies.
