A high-resolution aperture-synthesis study of the spiral galaxy NGC 300 has been carried out in the H I line. A peculiar velocity field outside the optical image of the galaxy was found and is interpreted as being due to a substantial warping of the outer plane of the galaxy. This distortion may be related to the presence of massive H I companions to NGC 300. The more normal H I properties of NGC 300 are also discussed.
