During monitoring of UV Ceti for flare activity in the fall of 1976 an
interval of anomalous activity characterized by fewer flares of greater
intensity, but preserving the same total flare energy, was observed. The
phenomena are unrelated to change in the separation between the binary
components, and the cause is at present unknown.
