Observations of the barred spirals NGC 1672, 1313, and 2685 are discussed which indicate the existence of a ringlike structure around each bar and located in a plane different from that of the system's rotation. A model is proposed which explains these ringlike features in terms of accretion of intergalactic matter mainly by the bars of these galaxies. The rings are not regarded as stable permanent structures.
