We present data that may indicate the presence of a non-Faraday rotation of the plane of polarization of propagating radiowaves. We consider the possibility of the rotation being due to space anisotropy, and investigate an effective theory of Electrodynamics containing a vector vec s and a fundamental length Lambdas that provides consistency with data. Specifically, we investigate the representation of electrodynamical anisotropy as a coupling of the electromagnetic field strength tensor to a fixed, anisotropy-parameterizing background field. An extensive Monte Carlo computer analysis of electromagnetic polarization data on 160 radio galaxies yields a definite correlation for the full data set. A significant correlation is found for the data set with redshifts z >=q 0.3 . The probability that this would be produced by random fluctuations is found to be of order 10 ^{-3}. The best fit is Lambdas = (1.10 +/- 0.08)10 25{H_0over H} meters in the region of vec s = (0 ^circ+/-20^circ, 21 hours+/-2 hours).
