Formulas are presented for calculating the mean values of elevation angles, the rms deviations from these angles, and the azimuths of Pedersen rays on the basis of predicted ionospheric parameters. The calculation method is verified experimentally. It is concluded that the proposed approach can be used in the design of ionospheric communications and direction-finding systems and in the solution of inverse problems of ionospheric sounding.
