The orbit transfer system that transports a payload from LEO to GEO using the multi-stage spinning tethers is studied in this paper. The variations of EOL (end-of-life) masses, BOL (beginning-of-life) masses and mission times of the system are analyzed with changing the number of tether stages, tether length of each stage and payload masses. At the same time, the performance of the system is also analyzed in the cases that chemical propulsion or the ion thruster is used for the correction of its orbit. As a result, the guidelines of the system design to minimize EOL are obtained. The result also shows the effectiveness of spinning tethers system compared with conventional chemical propulsion system for the same orbit transfer mission. .
