An analytical solution for the differential equations governing the motion of an artificial satellite under the influence of the oblateness of the Earth is developed. The authors start with the differential equations in terms of Euler parameters. To compact algebra, they introduce the Cayley-Klein type complex variables. Comparison between numerical and analytical final states with J2 are given for a test case.
