The results of a study of the properties of gravitational waves emitted by model sources are presented. It is shown that for a large class of realistic astrophysical situations, the expressions for the mass quadrupole moment tensor in the model all have the same relatively simple form. A simple analytic formula for the gravitational radiation from the sources, as well as explicit expressions for the radiation patterns, polarization dependence, and the wave form are obtained.
