We model the temporal profiles of BATSE GRB pulses with an analytic form based on first principles which give excellent fits to most FRED-like pulses. We've used these models to extract the asymptotic rise and decay power law indices for a sample of FRED pulses. Utilizing these results we can test a variety of currently popular emission models in the source comoving frame. Some tentative conclusions are listed.
