A new theory for analytial continuation of quasi-periodic orbits from
nonlinear normal modes of a gyroscopic, two DOF system in rotating
coordinates is formulated. A 2D manifold of modal solutions is continued
into a 3D manifold with time-dependent velocity field. Nonlinear
stability of the 3D manifold is determined by Liapunov's direct method.
