We have analysed the observed data taken with the Type-11 photoelectric astrolabe of Yunnan Observatory (YPA). The results are: mean single star error σ=+/-0.162'', external accuracy of time observation = +/-0.0049 s, that of latitude observation = +/-0.058''. A remarkable feature is the long term stability both in internal and external agreements and the local terms are also stable. The results show that the Chinese made photoelectric astrolabe has performed well and stably for over ten years. The YPA now ranks as one of the best optical instruments internationally, not only can it be used in the investigation of the connection between new and old techniques through its determination of the earth rotation parameters, it can also be expected to contribute to the study of local geophysical phenomena and the improvement and linking of reference systems.
