The Lyman Alpha Mapping Project (LAMP) instrument on the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) identified the presence of 5 different species present in the vapor plume emanating out of the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) impact experiment on the Moon. LCROSS impacted in the permanently shadowed crater Cabeus on Oct 9, 2009. We present the light curves from each species: Hg, Mg, Ca, CO, and H2 as LRO approached and passed the expanding vapor cloud after impact. Further, we present simulations from a Monte Carlo model of the release and expansion of the vapor cloud. Comparing the model results to the observations, we relate the amount of each species observed to the amount released by impact. We compare the relative amounts with each other. Using the structure of the light curve, we infer physical properties of the vapor plume.
