Results of the Pulsar X-2 instrument on board the Gamma Module are presented. Analysis of the instantaneous pulse profiles of the X-ray pulsar Vela X-1, measured for 12 observations of about 20 min each, showed a correlation between the value of the modulated flux component and the value of the global minimum phase pulse profile. This behavior is interpreted as transitions from the accretion predominantly onto one magnetic pole of a neutron star to the accretion predominantly onto another pole when the accretion rate changes.
