Universe: Large-Scale Structure, Galaxies: Redshift Surveys
Scientific paper
Large scale structure in the distribution of galaxies has been investigated by analyzing the samples given by a complete redshift survey in 5 pencil-beam fields and sparse redshift survey in 9 pencil-beam fields. The fractal dimension in the distribution has been calculated with a revised method. The result shows that the distribution of galaxies has a typical scale which is about 3 - 4.5 h-1Mpc. This result is consistent with that obtained by Shanks et al.
