An analysis is conducted of Local Group motion with respect to 10 extragalactic concentric-shell reference frames constructed from a sample of 300 elliptical galaxies, in order to ascertain the kinematical behavior of the local universe and its implications for the universe's large-scale structure. The results obtained indicate that the motion of the shells of galaxies decreases with distance, so that the shell at 30/h Mpc is at rest in the cosmic microwave background. It is also established that a universe dominated by adiabatic cold dark matter is in good agreement with the kinematical data.
