Galaxy velocity fields are presently analyzed, and orbital parameters determined, by means of a nonlinear least-squares fitting routine which requires less unnecessary user interaction than previous methods and leads to more accurate and unambiguous results. Emphasis is given to the correct determination of orbital inclination. The method is applied to the velocity field of NGC 6503, for which residual velocity field interpretation indicates the existence of regions with substantial noncircular velocities. Application of the least squares method to the optical velocity field of this galaxy shows it to be consistent with the H I field.
