After Sgr A, the next nearest supermassive blackhole (SMBH) is that in M31, called M31*. In some ways M31* is a more optimal object to study than Sgr A, in that the Bondi radius has a larger apparent diameter than that of Sgr A. We will report on our project to carefully merge 6, long exposure, Chandra HRC images, and the registration of this dataset to HST images of M31* in order to improve astrometry. A Chandra x-ray lightcurve of M31* will be extracted with care to remove effects of nearby contaminating sources, such as bright x-ray sources and diffuse emission from dust surrounding the galactic center. This lightcurve will then allow further insight as to the emission mechanism dominating M31*. Interestingly the Bondi rate may be on par to the star formation rate implied by the recent identification of young stars surrounding M31*.
