The purpose of our work is to analyse the role of great sedimentary basins on the depositional systems in their neighbourhood. Based on images (Viking, MGS) and topography (MOLA) we analysed the following characteristics of crater infills: 1. volume, 2. surface roughness, 3. connection with the surrounding morphological structures, 4. height and distance from the nearby great basin, 5. the role of large scale surface structures (heights) in the neighborhood. The result show possible tendecies in the regional sediment migration based on numeral data and the effect of great basins on it.
