We observed 169 candidate ZZ Ceti stars from the Hamburg Quasar Survey and determine their probability of being true ZZ Ceti stars. We used the Calar Alto 2.2m and 1.23m telescopes for our observations. 11 highly probable new DAV stars and another 26 with a moderate probability of being DAV White Dwarfs are identified based on Strömgren two-color photometry that is compared to synthetic colors which are derived from model atmospheres, and based on applying statistical techniques to short time-series data sets.
