A description is given of an experimental radio-meteor survey carried out to determine the relationship between meteor ionization height and meteor magnitude. Comparisons are made with previous non-shower surveys and limitations in analysis techniques are indicated. It is also shown that reported diurnal variations in observed meteoroid mass distribution index can be explained as a consequence of the characteristics of the height-magnitude distribution.
