New statistical effects in the distribution of the orbital elements of short-period comets are ascertained. It is shown that the whole complex of similar effects of short-period comets indicates to their gravitational ejection from the Jovian sphere of action. A total analogy is detected between the statistical effects of short-period comets in the ecliptical coordinates and the same effects for long-period comets in galactic coordinates. It follows that the long-period comets have been ejected from the sphere of action of a hypothetical trans-Plutonian planet moving in the galactic plane.
