We present the results of an X-ray, optical and radio search for supernova remnants (SNRs) in the nearby Sb spiral galaxy M81. Using Chandra and VLA observations of this galaxy, we have searched for X-ray and radio counterparts to the 41 SNRs identified in M81 by a prior optical survey. We have complemented this work by also preparing samples of candidate X-ray and radio SNRs in this galaxy. Similar to the results found in earlier multi-wavelength studies of SNR populations in other nearby galaxies, very little overlap is seen between samples of SNRs in M81 as detected at different wavelengths. We also present some initial results in the study of the Sigma-D relation for extra-galactic SNRs, using candidate radio SNRs identified in M81 and other nearby galaxies.
