The BATSE Earth Occultation data is being successfully used to study the temporal and spectral properties of an unbiased sample of Seyfert 2 galaxies in the 20-100 keV energy range over a period of 8 years. The sample used is the enlarged Maiolino and Reike sample restricted in distance to those (46) located within 42 Mpc from Earth. Of the 20 sources so far analyzed 12 were detected at greater than the 5 sigma level; some of these are new detections in the hard X-ray band. Preliminary results of this study are presented including example light-curves and spectra. To enlarge the scope of our study we also present a comparison of our data with data obtained by BeppoSAX. The implications of these results to the Unified Model of AGN, and the synthesis of the Cosmic Diffuse Background are discussed. .
