The U. S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Sounding Rockets and Balloon Programs conduct a total of 40 to 50 missions per year in support of the NASA scientific community. The Goddard Space Flgiht Center has management and implementation responsibility for these programs. These missions support investigations sponsored by NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Life and Microgravity Sciences & Applications, Earth Science, and Exploration Systems.
