An attempt has been made to detect H-alpha emission from ionized gas in
26 globular clusters using a single-etalon photoelectric Fabry-Perot
interferometer. Assuming in each case that any ionized gas present is
confined to the core, probable upper limits of the order of a few solar
masses of ionized hydrogen have been derived.
