We present design metrics and numerical simulations aimed at optimizing the performance of the current 3rd generation and future generations of the dispersed Fourier Transform Spectrometer (dFTS). The original dFTS and modified versions of the spectrometer package have demonstrated their value over the past decade in areas ranging from remote sensing in astrophysics to medical diagnostic technologies. The first and second generation dFTS instruments have measured multiple SB1 and SB2 stellar orbits, and have enabled the determination of stellar masses with extreme precision. Based on our analysis of dFTS3, we present our expectations for the capabilities and radial velocity performance of this soon-to-be-built spectrometer.
