An OH survey was performed of IRAS sources that present IR colors similar to Mira stars and for which an LRS observation was available. A total of 143 objects were observed in the 1612 and 1667 MHz lines: OH masers were found in 36 objects. The aim of this work is to characterize a large number of evolved circumstellar envelopes from microwave spectra, and to explore the evolution of Asymptotic Giant Branch objects. Special attention is given to the comparison of the objects found in the present study with the known Miras. The kinematics of the envelopes that show peculiar OH spectra is discussed.
