Scientific paper

This paper presents high resolution and high signal-to-noise spectra of the sun-like, chromospherically active star ɛ Eri, obtained with the coudé spectrograph of the 1-meter telescope of Yunnan Astronomical Observatory in the years 1993-1994. Using two different methods, i.e. analysis of the Zeeman broadening of spectral line profiles and statistical analysis of multiplets, the surface magnetic field strength and the factor of coverage of magnetic field have been successfully determined. A brief discussion of the two methods is given.
