Images constructed from the IRAS database have been used to measure the extended IR emission from approximately 73 H II regions in the Milky Way. All of these objects are visible optically and have been recently imaged in the radio continuum with the Very Large Array. Color-color plots of the H II regions show that those with higher luminosities lie at different positions in these plots than those with lower luminosities. Together these H II regions span a band in the color-color diagram that is similar, but not identical, to the galaxy band identified by Helou [ApJ, 311, L73 (1986)]. Comparing the IRAS measurements to the radio continuum data suggest that the majority of these optically identified objects, if excited by single stars, emit more than half of their total luminosity in the IR.
