The authors developed a pseudo self-consistent code where a galaxy is represented by a Schuster (or Plummer) sphere. The particles that make up the sphere do not interact directly with each other, but they are attracted by the Schuster potential whose parameters are, in turn, derived from the distribution of particles. The authors investigate the oscillations of the galaxies and use them to study the best choice of parameters of the Schuster spheres.
