The spectropolarimetric method is presently used to characterize the Fraunhofer line filling-in effect noted in lunar spectra, for the cases of several lunar regions at H-alpha and H-beta. While the measurements obtained neither deny nor confirm the filling-in effect, it is established that any luminescence at these wavelengths cannot be unpolarized. In the case of the H-alpha measurements, one lunar region is notedto have displayed an anomalous polarization angle relative to the local scattering plane; the core of the line is less affected than the continuum; other regions indicate the occurrence of an about 0.25-deg rotation within the linear core.
