Helioseismology offers unique possibilities for probing the detailed internal structure of a star and, in this way, constraining the physical properties of matter under stellar conditions. Here I provide a brief introduction to stellar structure and stellar oscillations, as well as to the techniques used in helioseismic analyses. In addition, I give a few examples of the results obtained from helioseismic investigations of solar structure.
