It is shown through a calculation of the effect of melting of ice cap on the moment of inertia of the Earth for the four largest ice caps, that the non-tidal term in the variation of Earth's rotation observed by modern space technique can be interpreted in terms of the theory of post-glacial rebound together with a lower mantle viscosity coefficient between (1.35-1.91) ×1022 Pas.
