Solar Flares: Solar Microwave Bursts, Solar Flares: Models
Scientific paper
The solar flare is a complicated active phenomenon originated in the solar atmosphere and a manifestation of an explosive release process of energy stored in the lower corona. It makes the plasma in the flare region to be heated and accelerated, as well as produces the radiation from radio band up to γ-ray. Although the study of solar flare is a classical topic, the fundamentals of solar flares such as the storage and release of flare energy are not yet understood. The reason is not only due to the complexity of flare process, but also the details of it being unidentified by observation. Since the acquisition of these new materials as well as the development of magnetic reconnection theory and current sheet theory, the research on mechanism of solar flare has been promoted strongly.
