Stationary flows in isolated magnetic flux tubes are studied using the thin flux tube approximation method. Assuming that the external atmosphere is a plane-stratified fluid in hydrostatic equilibrium, an important integral is found, which is independent of the energy transfer mechanism and parameters of the ambient gas. Applying the integral, we obtain some theoretical results about the shape of isolated magnetic flux tubes and examine some numerical results of previous studies in this field. The applications of the integral to the solar atmosphere magnetic field are discussed briefly.
