The spectrograph concept developed for the SNAP (SuperNova/Acceleration Probe) experiment has been updated following specification optimization. This instrument will ensure a proper identification of Type Ia supernovae and will allow to standardize the magnitude of each candidate by determining explosion parameters. The instrument is based on integral field technique with the powerful concept of imager slicing. Slicer prototyping for space application is under development founded by ESA. The current status of this work will be reviewed. The optical concept for a low and constant spectral resolution will be presented. A 2 arms instrument covering on one hand the visible (0.35-1 μm) band and on the other hand the IR one (1-1.7 μm) is designed to acheive a very high efficiency over the entire wavelength range. This instrument will fulfill all the scientific and spatial requirements.
