Recent measurements of lifetimes and branching ratios have been used for a solar abundance analysis of lead. Using the spectrum synthesis method with the assumption of local thermodynamic equilibrium, combined with the Holweger-Muller model solar atmosphere, it is found that the solar lead logarithmic abundance, A(Pb) = 2.00 + or - 0.05, is slightly lower than the C1 carbonaceaus chondrites value (2.05 + or -0.03).
